Alexey Klokov presented his collection of new paintings in Los Angeles. Following the monochrome tradition of the greats — Pablo Picasso, Albrecht Dürer, Kazimir Malevich, Gerhard Richter, Bridget Riley and others — Alexey made his input by creating the black and white series, which reflects the recent events in the United States and worldwide.

The collection’s name is BLACKANDWHITE, and it symbolizes the polar split in society into white and black, good and bad, right and wrong… The primary purpose of the collection is to show that these two colors are inseparable and do not occur in isolation from each other.

Hence, the choice of technique where the artist creates the synergy by mixing colors right on the canvas. The result is their victorious union that exists around us as the keys of the piano, yin and yang, day and night, etc. These paintings are out of politics – they are instead about the world that each of us builds with our perception, consciousness and hands.
